Steven Platt was a summer associate with the firm during law school, and he joined the firm full-time in 2006. He is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Trusts & Estates departments.

Some of Mr. Platt's representative litigation matters include:
  • Serving as sole counsel for former CEO of non-profit agency in a jury trial involving employment, contract, and fiduciary duty claims.
  • Defending dozens of ADA and Unruh Act cases in state and federal court for private and public entities, including class action and multi-plaintiff lawsuits.
  • Representing clients in matters involving trade secret misappropriation, construction defects, and various real property claims.
  • Defending employers in a variety of matters, including wrongful termination and employment discrimination claims.
  • Defending pharmaceutical and agricultural companies in mass product liability cases.
  • Representing landlords in significant unlawful detainer matters.
Mr. Platt's representative estate planning, administration, and litigation matters include:
  • Drafting wills, trusts, and related estate planning documents.
  • Assisting individuals in gift and estate tax planning, and in preparing estate tax returns.
  • Representing institutional and individual trustees in trust administration proceedings and in a variety of trust petitions, including accounting petitions, modification petitions, petitions for instruction, and petitions for approval of various trustee actions.
  • Representing conservators in conservatorship proceedings.
  • Advising clients on the administration of unique assets, including digital assets and genetic material.
Mr. Platt has been selected as a Super Lawyers Southern California Rising Star numerous times. He enjoys hiking, traveling, and visiting art museums in his spare time.
